As new Cosmik Souls collections come forth it seems perfect timing to introduce you to the design artistry of Christina Lacroix ... a lifelong FAVE and design MUSE for Cosmik Souls ... I have been studying the minute of details of Lacroix collections since I was a schoolgirl with a DREAM to design a luxe and lovely detail oriented brand of my own. Amongst other design influences such as Vivien Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, YSL, Karl Lagerfeld before Coco Chanel and now for Chanel ... so many to name but over time I would LOVE to share with you my journey to Cosmik Souls Handcrafted Jewelry and Couture Accessories. Having always been a huge visual learner the collections of my faves ...with Lacroix being amongst the top ... live within and are referenced readily as I journey from collection to collection. The imagery of his work combined with momentary stimulus of a movie, storybook, nature, a dream, street life or high life move me to create posh fashion accessories seen on Cosmik Souls clients, pages and mag shoots.

Oh my, to even say the name ignites such imagery and impulse to create ... ruffles, tulle, lace, ribbon, jewels, crowns, headpieces and jewelry adorned Paris runways bearing his signature style come to mind. I can pick it out from the crowd any day. With a tad of learning I can help you to do the same ... and recognize the impact of this amazing designer on m own work.

Lacroix was born in Arles, southern France. With a fondness much like my own ... he began sketching historical costumes at an early age. After studying Art History, then a stint at the Sorbonne in Paris. While he worked on his dissertation on 18th Century painting dress ... he pursued museum study at
École du Louvre with designs on becoming a museum curator. The richness of his work is so evident of this journey opening his first Haute Couture house in 1987. The following year Lacroix introduced RTW, jewelry, handbags, shoes to name a few along with boutiques around Paris and Europe. With a background in costume design Lacroix created opulent MAGIC mixing historical references from all genres to create his own brand of pure LUX ! Best known for his puff skirt admirably referred to as "LePouf" .. and attention to detail Christian Lacroix is in a class by himself ... if Marie Antoinette were here today I am most sure she would be lavishly dressed by Lacroix ... to observe the beautiful imagery is to be transported ... hvae a look and please stop back and let me know what sensory perceptions a awakened for YOU !!!
