Beauty and Grace ... A Tribute To L'Wren Scott ...

Monday March 17th 2014 ... NYC .. Who Could Have Imagined the Unthinkable ....

Fashion Designer L'Wren Scott

Elegant with modern classic twist ... designer to the stars L'Wren Scott was found by her assistant in her NYC apartment ... gone ... from an apparent suicide. Hanged from a doorknob in her Manhattan apartment while long time love and partner Mick Jagger toured Australia and New Zealand for The Rolling Stones. Perhaps alone and in fear for the company she had built from the ground up since 2001 was recently sited to be in financial peril. Despite L'Wren's many talents from modeling in Paris for Theirry Mugler and Chanel , to LA stylist and costume designer L'Wren always found her zen in the background designing and tailoring to perfection the garments of many a Red Capet lady. Standing at over 6' tall she learned as a school girl to hone her sewing and styling skills designing clothing for herself since there was little choice in her small town in Utah where she lived with her adoptive parents. Often disassembling vintage finds for the alluring fabrics to tailor her own statuesque frame to much success and admiration.

After a stint in Paris as a model, a very successful appointment as LA stylist L'Wren decided to launch her own line with her first capsule collection being named "The Little Black Dress". She was an instant hit with celebs dressing such names as Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman to name a few ... this list would not be complete without the mention of First Lady Michelle Obama. L'Wren to all of us would seem to have it ALL ! A booming fashion house and a longtime boyfriend with "the Moves Like Jagger" ... well that's because he is none other than Mick Jagger. Although the news came as a shock to Mick and those who knew L'Wren it seems no life is without it's share of ups and downs and troubles. I chose not to dwell on them in this feature ... it is a tribute to a real beauty, with astonishing talent and vision. Just have a look and see the artistry and impeccable craftsmanship ... L'Wren was a one of a kind American designer with European flare ... matching fabulous and fun detail with streamline classic lines.
